Livestock

Sudan is very much known of being ranked among the highest in the world in terms of livestock population given its vast arable and pasture lands which make the cost of the feeding very cheap. Millions heads of cattle, sheep, goats and camels are distributed in all Regions of the Sudan. The country is also blessed with a great quantity of wildlife, fisheries and poultry. Many small and medium- scales factories of meat and milk production, slaughter houses, Poultry and wools are in place and provide the domestic market’s consumptions and exports. Nevertheless the overall size of the industries in this areas is far less from the expectations. The country is keen to boost and develop this field through a win-win partnership with the national and international private sectors to make full use of the country’s huge capacity in this field.

The government of the Sudan is continuously upgrading its investments laws and regulations to encourage the Foreign Direct Investments to take part of the country’s journey towards the localization of livestock production

Agriculture

Sudan economy was depending on the agriculture for many decades, the total arable land is about 200 million feddan (one feddan =4200sqm). Cultivated crops are Sorghum (Dura), Sugarcane, Oil seeds (sesame, groundnut, and sunflower). Fruits (mango, banana, guava lemon, strawberry, pineapple ( grapefruit , Vegetable (tomato, green beans, cucumber, potatoes, onion, garlic, spices, legumes, lentils)

Mineral

Sudan has vast mineral deposits discovered in different parts of the country: Gold Silver, iron ore, chromate, mica, silica, gypsum, granite, marble, manganese, asbestos talc and lime stone, copper, zinc, lead, cement.
